About the Artist : Artist M. K. Puri has studied painting at Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi and a National Diploma in Fine Art from Delhi College of Art, New Delhi. He has also trained in Ceramics from Delhi Blue Art Pottery, New Delhi.
His exhibitions include 20 Solo Shows & more than 100 group shows in India & abroad including Paris, Havana Biennale-Cuba, Mexico, Myanmar,Beijing biennale,Beijing(2005), Olympic Fine Art, Beijing, '!00 Excellent Artists' Penang, Malaysia, OFAA & Bosnia Museum at Sarajevo & Banga Luka, Bosnia.
Mr Puri has received life time recognition for contribution to Indian Contemporary Art by AIFACS, Senior Fellowship awarded by Ministry of Culture, Govt of India, National Akademi Award, Sahitya Kala Parishad Award, AIFACS awards, and is currently a Member Executive Board, Lalit Kala Akademi

The mirror in this painting reflects the shadow of light which imprints the texture of the face. The colors used in this painting indicate the reflection of light which allows them to reflect the world around them. In spiritual concepts, light is a powerful symbol of wisdom and awareness. As a consequence, mirrors are symbols and carriers of truth and reflect what our truth is. -Zanaida

The mirror saw my reflection,

and told me I was the beauty that was missing,

so I stood infront of the mirror,

till I could no longer.
