Colors And Their Relevance During The 9 Days Of Navratri
Pranjal Arts believes in bringing colours to your life, and with the festive season of Navratri, Indians are experiencing a festival influx with the celebration of vibrant colours. While the colours remain the same every year, the order in which they are worn changes as per the year. In this blog, let’s look at how, why, and what is the relevance of colours during Navratri.
Significance of the festival
It is believed that following the colour code brings good luck, blessings, and prosperity. One must wear clothes which are of the designated colour corresponding to the day if they want these in their life. This practise is most ardently followed by the devotees of Goddess Durga in India. Religiously speaking, each colour represents one quality of Goddess of power and strength – Goddess Durga. She is believed to have defeated a demon after a nine-day battle, and hence Navratri is celebrated as a victory of good over evil. Navratri celebrates female energy, prosperity, victory and showcases nine displays of feminine power to the world. It ends in another festival, Dusshera or Vijayadashami i.e. the tenth day of the festivities.
